A second place finish in my age group is an accomplishment, right? How about if there were only five finishers in the age group? That’s what happened at the Detroit Blue Cross Blue Shield River Days Run last month. My 10k time of 49:43 was good enough for a second place medal. Although there were only five finishers I still had a good time (for me) and I still was ahead of three other runners in my group. I’ll take it.
